First Night

I arrived in Cabanatuan at around 10pm. I was fetched by my family at the Central Terminal and right there i could see from their faces how happy and excited they were to see me. A little hug was gestured by Mother, a sign that she's more happy than sorry to have me back home. As i always said, i was going home on a not so happy note, having worked only for four months and having to bring nothing but memories of stolen opportunities.

When i reached the house, i hurried to the dining table and to plates of home cooked meals - there were calderetang baboy and ginataang gulay. In Dubai, we also tried to cook the same meals but to a different taste - and i could not exactly figure out where the difference was coming, maybe from the ingridients, the spices, the process, i fairly didnt know. Short to say, native dishes prepared here just wont taste better if prepared somewhere else.

Then the rest of the story was told. The reasons why i have returned, the experiences that i have been through and even the trials that i have to endure. It was a little frustrating and disheartening to say all these things especially when i know that they're counting on me. I told them that i'll be back to Dubai soon and it wont be that long.

put myself to sleep like i was still dreaming. Only a few hours ago i was in Dubai and now i am here in the comforts of my own room looking at some familiar things that have reminded me of where i used to be. Dubai could have been a better choice, as such there is really nothing to worry about, because it's a choice that i could always make.
