Out Boxed

The mirror has two faces and there's always two sides of the story. Well, not so differently, human being do also have their two sides, but that which caught the usual enthusiasm is the other side. That peculiar and discreet aspect of one's personality which tend to outdo the conventions by which we want people to believe as the only things we know. The other side could be born out of necessity, just as when somone engages into an illicit affair for financial comfort or when a person trades in his usual job for an allegal one in exchange for big time pay offs. The other side could also be the product of circumstancial events, the way we are raised, the family where we came from, the influences of our friends or loosely out of curiosity. The saying one cannot judge a person by the the way he looks do apply.

So what do i've got on the other side? Well, Back in the province, i am the most out and soft spoken person you'll ever met. Always home bound and a perrenial couch potato. When with my family, i am dignified and my words command respect. Am the serious type.

Back in Manila, i let loose of every imaginable earnestness i have in my body. I become the most loquacious, never running out of stories to tell. Easy go lucky. Unmindful. During the day, i am the typical office boy, work on my tasks as profoundly as possible. Have lunch with office mates and end the 8 hours cubicled job with gratitude that another boring day has passed and i barely even notice. By night, the office boy becomes the boytoy, striking anywhere. Playing and displaying, checking in and checking out. Taking the blues away. Painting the town red. All night long.

At dawn, eveything goes back to normal, until another day, after another night.
